Each year, fourth grade students at New Hope Christian Academy delve deep into entomology and arachnology, during the fall season. Students select their choice of insect to explore through research. After intense studies and sketching, the sculpture process begins to take on a full figure. Students create a scientifically-correct sculpture of their specific arthropod, utilizing recycled materials. On Sunday, October 20, fourth graders will celebrate their learning through a complimentary Entomologist Art Show, displaying their great sculptures, built by hand. This project is a wonderful blend of experiential learning, through science and art.
