Murfreesboro Parks and Rec. - To Be or Not to Be (Ages 12-17)

WHAT:  Come join us for a tradition, Shakespearean acting class. We will be looking at soliloquies, character development through classic Shakespearean scenes (Romeo and Juliet, Midsummers, etc.). Expand your repertoire of acting skills. We will concrete skills as we make friends and have fun.

Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum - Making Waves at Historic RCA Studio B

WHEN:  Monday, October 15, 2018, 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

WHERE: Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Nashville

COST:  $18 adult and $15 youth. Community Counts discount pricing available at $10 adult, $5 youth. Must reside in Cheatham, Davidson, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Wilson or Williamson County. Proof of residence required. Tickets are available here

WHAT:  Have family fun at Historic RCA Studio B and explore the history of this legendary recording studio, where the Everly Brothers, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and many others made hits between 1957 and 1977. In this interactive workshop, participants discover the music made in the studio, explore the science of sound, and learn the basics of the recording process before tracking a song as a group. This experience is available to family groups with children between the ages of 5 and 18. A minimum number of participants is required for this program to take place.

WHAT: STEAM is interwoven in all grades at New Hope. First grade will design clay animals with skeletons. Second graders with simulate digestion using bread, water, and towels. Grades 3-5 will learn from out school forest about water pollution, human vs. nature, forest damage, and forest ecosystems. Sixth grade will design marble runs inspired by Rube Goldberg machines.
