Children's Museum of Memphis - CMOM's Rainbow Wizards Brew

WHAT:  We will be making Wizard’s Brew! This experiment requires two chemicals. This experiment is not dangerous and gives children an understanding of how chemical reactions occur.

WHAT:  TDEC OEP K-12 Energy Education Program

OEP has a long history of supporting K-12 energy education through professional development and student learning opportunities. These learning opportunities link the broad topic of energy to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) subjects and provide educators with the knowledge and resources necessary to teach energy concepts.  We explore energy through hands-on interactive demonstrations designed to make energy exciting and fun.

WHAT:  Join us in celebrating International Archaeology Day! Learn how scientists study prehistoric site through hands-on activities in our archaeology lab. Throw darts with a prehistoric weapon called the atlatl, make a pinch pot to take home, see craft demonstrations, tour the archaeology trench, and discover how stone tools were made.


Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology, and Inflammation (VI4), part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center - MEGAMicrobe

WHAT:  MEGAMicrobe is VI4’s annual community event for kids ages 5-15 and is free to the public. Spend as much time as you like exploring different booths run by real Vanderbilt scientists. You’ll have the chance to touch, see, and create your very own experiments. This year, MEGAMicrobe’s theme is ANIMALS! Our Microbial Zoo will give kids a chance to learn about microbiology as it relates to all kinds of creatures. Bring the whole family and join us for a fun day of science!
