WHAT:  Open house with possible participants: Murfreesboro City Police, Murfreesboro City Fire, Experimental Aircraft Association, Civil Air Patrol, Middle TN State University, Murfreesboro Aviation, Vanderbilt Life Flight, TN Army National Guard, 101st Airborne Division. There will be free hotdogs, chips, water available for lunch that day. We will teach the kids how an airplane flies and the parts of an airplane, stations to talk about helicopters and how they differ from an airplane. Aircraft engines on stands showing the different types of engines. Civil Air Patrol will be set up to talk about how people can get involved in aviation and a paper airplane station to demonstrate wing mechanics.

Hands On! Discovery Center Fabulous Fabrics Discovery Lab Program for National Chemistry Week

Children's Museum of Memphis Tree Ring Art Project

WHAT:  In CMOM’s Art and Innovation Lab, guests will create concentric circle drawings to replicate the appearance of tree rings. This science-oriented art project will serve as a lesson in determining the ages of trees through the practice of dendrochronology. An example and how-to visual guide will accompany the project.

Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary Fall Color Hikes
