Outdoor Murfreesboro Machine Falls Hike

WHERE: Wilderness Station at Barfield Crescent Park - 401 Volunteer Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37128

WHAT: .The Machine Falls loop trail is a 1.5-mile loop with lots of great scenery as you hike to the falls. With chances of seeing wildlife, mushrooms, wildflowers, and more. After hiking a little over a mile, we will reach our destination, a very scenic 60 foot tall waterfall. Transportation will be provided.

We will be gone from 9:00am to approximately 1:00pm. The drive to Machine Falls is roughly 45 minutes long. There are a couple of swimming holes so participants can bring clothes to swim in.

Trees are Terrific! Do a Self-Guided Tour MTSU's Arboretum

WHAT: .Did you know that trees are the largest organisms most of us will encounter in our lifetime? Come visit the MTSU campus in early fall to view representative native Tennessee trees, with one exception, the Ginkgo. Download the Native Tree map from the web address provided or pick up a foldable copy in the MTSU Science Atrium. This is an open event, a casual walk to visit each tree will take about 2 hours. Parking on campus is not available from M - F, 8AM to 6PM but plenty of parking is available in the Rutherford Blvd lot where you can walk to campus or ride the Blue Raider Shuttle. Tree tags also have a QR code that will provide you with a walking map to specific trees that are part of the Arboretum.

The screen area is 3, 925 square feet, making it the largest projection screen in Memphis.
