WHAT:  In CMOM’s Art and Innovation Lab, guests will create concentric circle drawings to replicate the appearance of tree rings. This science-oriented art project will serve as a lesson in determining the ages of trees through the practice of dendrochronology. An example and how-to visual guide will accompany the project.

Virtual - National Museum of African American Music, From Nothing to Something

WHAT: Join a Parthenon expert at 10 AM to see Centennial Park as you never have before. You’ll hear stories of the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition and find specific places in the park to help you picture the past. This tour features archival photographs and images of artifacts from the Exposition.

WHAT: There are many reasons how animals survive in the wild. Maybe some can fly while others are fast runners. Every living thing needs to eat; so, what makes some animals better hunters than others? Does night vision aid in the survival of an animal? All these questions, and more, are answered when looking at animal adaptations. Through this concept, we can learn about all the skills and abilities our indigenous animal friends have that helps them hide, run, fly, swim, sneak, and hunt. How are these abilities similar, or different, to our own and how do their structures differ from one animal to another?
