The focus is to introduce our visitors to what STEM/STEAM exactly is as well as early workforce development and career path cultivation. We will have organizations from across our region showcasing a variety of things including coding robotics, fossils, electrical motors, finds from a naturalist, flight, and much more.

Coding Classes with the Oak Ridge Computer Science Girls

Spooktacular Silent Disco at Muse Knoxville

Black Light Ocean Art

Muse Family Science Fair

WHAT: Muse Knoxville is excited to bring back our Family Science Fair! We invite families to work together to design a science project and create those aha! moments. This project encourages students to think and act like young scientists. As a family, you will be designing a science project that uses the scientific method to solve a problem. We hope that this project helps your family explore the educational benefits of developing skills in writing, oral presentation, creative thinking, and problem-solving. Families must include at least one pre-school or elementary-aged child.
Families wanting to participate in the science fair need to complete an application. No pre-registration needed for spectators.

Please complete a project proposal application at https://themuseknoxville.org/events/muse-family-science-fair/ by Friday, September 8, 2023. Proposals will be reviewed by a science fair committee, consisting of members of Muse leadership staff. Ten projects will be chosen to be displayed and judged at the Muse Family Science Fair on Saturday, October 14th from 9:30am – 11:30am. Chosen applicants will be notified by email no later than Friday, September 15th and will need to come by Muse Knoxville to collect their project display board and kit.
